Amazon online Sales defy Retail slump

The online book, music and variety retailer is preparing for another record breaking Christmas against the current economic downturn. The company expects to sell more than 1 million items up from 900,000 last year. Brian McBride, UK managing Director advised ‘ Growth is slower but we are still expecting our biggest Christmas ever. In our view it is still growth, growth growth’
The company is hoping that its promotion to cut the free delivery threshold from £15 to £5 will help to boost sales and with internet sales still expanding because more people have access to computers with Broadband connections and in this climate like to shop around for the best price the internet is the best place to do this.
